Furniture reupholstery in Kaneohe since 1964
Ryan and his wife re-cover chairs, sofas and cushions on Kahuhipa Street.

The work on Kahuhipa Street
Most pieces arrive as a photo with rough dimensions, and the price goes back before any cloth is cut.
Grandma's wing chair, Mom's sectional, Uncle's teak set
Those are the pieces John's has re-covered since 1964, new and antique alike. Pick the cloth off the sample wall in the shop, or send a photo of the piece with some dimensions and the price comes back first.
Restoration, reuse and reduce.
The shop's own rule: keep the frame you love, rebuild what sits on it. A koa set or a teak dining set built decades ago usually has a sound frame under a tired cover.

Rocky Rawlins on the fabric questions
Google 4.2 from 11 reviews
The owner Ryan was so accommodating and very helpful when it came to answering questions about fabrics and what was needed to reupholster my furniture.
“I called/visited five upholstery companies on this island and John's had by far the best price and had the exact fabric I wanted.”

Two generations at the same shop
John Ambrose started John's Upholstery in 1964 and built it into a leader in hotel and residential upholstery. His son Ryan runs it today with his wife, a husband-and-wife team of second-generation upholsterers.
What sets it apart from the big box stores is the same thing their customers write about: years with new and antique furniture, personal service, and a full commitment to getting the piece right. The family story behind the shop goes back to Big John himself.
